Evangelical leaders from the U.S. met with Brazil’s new President Jair Bolsonaro – an outspoken Christian – on Tuesday to talk about the future of his country.
According to CBN News, pastors, CEOs and community leaders – including Pat Robertson, Reinhard Bonnke, and Joel Rosenberg – gathered with Bolsonaro to pray over him and his country as they discussed policy and the importance of upholding traditional Christian values.
Charisma Magazine reports that in the meeting – which was set up by the Christian Broadcasting Network– Bolsonaro shared that he wants to move Brazil away from liberal “left-wing leaning” politics and toward more conservative policies.
Among the things he wants to do, Bolsonaro said he would like to move the Brazilian embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, strengthen Brazil’s relationship with Israel, strengthen legislation that protects unborn babies and reverse the effects socialism has had on Brazil.
