Twitter Erupts After R. Kelly Indictment: ‘I’ll Celebrate When I See R. Kelly Convicted’

R&B star R. Kelly was indicted Friday in Chicago on 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse – and Twitter is buzzing with the news.

The charges stem from a newly discovered video found by attorney Michael Avenatti that allegedly shows him having sex with a 14-year-old girl, The Chicago Sun-Times and TMZ reported, citing court records.

Twitter users were quick to react to the news, with many cheering the indictment.

“I’ll celebrate when I see R. Kelly convicted. Charged isn’t enough for me rn,” one user tweeted.

“R Kelly better go to jail,” another said.

Rosie O’Donnell tweeted, thanking God and law enforcement.

“It’s about time,” a user wrote with the hashtag #MuteRKelly.

“R Kelly charged FINALLY!” another person tweeted.

“R. Kelly has been charged with 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse. It only took them a lifetime but hey,” another said.

Others were already convinced the singer would go to jail.
