It isn’t every day you see a cat and a dog showing their love for one another in a series of cute gestures.
But Twitter user Jordan Ireland, who is from Colorado but is currently a student at Concordia University Wisconsin, managed to catch the adorable moment her two pets Maggi and Pumpkin comforted each other on camera, and shared it to Twitter.
The video, which has since gone viral, has gathered a staggering 11.7 million views in the past four days.
Jordan Ireland, who goes under the username @jor_nicole4 on Twitter, shared the now viral video to the social media platform on Friday.
The video was accompanied by a caption that read: ‘Did my dog just pet my cat?? And did my cat just hug my dog??’
The short snippet shows Jordan’s pet dog, Maggi, and Pumpkin, her cat, sitting on the couch together.
The clip shows Maggi reaching out her paw and gently stroking Pumpkin’s back as she lay comfortably on the couch.
As if that wasn’t cute enough, Pumpkin then sat up from her position and moved closer to Maggi.
The cat then placed a paw over the dog’s back in what looked like an adorable hug.
The pair held the position for a number of seconds, and looked content and happy as they did so.
Since the video was posted, it has gathered a whopping 11.7 million views, and 1.2 million likes.
The clip has also been retweeted over 336,000 times, and has received more than 7,000 comments.
Twitter user Jordan Ireland, who posted the video of her pets, was shocked to see such a response.
The day after she posted the video, she tweeted, saying: ‘This blew up way more than I expected. Thank y’all. Maggi and Pumpkin appreciate it.’
One Twitter user under the username @DaniDooRight55 commented on the video, saying: ‘I love how delicately the puppers strokes the cat. You can tell she barely grazes the top of the fluff. Such a sweet moment.
‘The engagement, affection, and recognition with a return headsmash upon the embrace shows these two will be furever friends,’ they added.
Another user, @ConstanceJackso, said: ‘The way dog snuggles with cat when cat hugs him is priceless. They say animals reflect their owners. Must be A LOT Of LOVE in your house.’
