Texas Jury Indicts Ex-Minister, Jerrell Altic, On Charges of Stealing $800K from Houston’s First Baptist Church

A grand jury has indicted a former minister with embezzling more than $800,000 from Houston’s First Baptist Church over a six-year period, according to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.

Jerrell G. Altic, 40, is expected to surrender to authorities by 9 a.m. today, spokesman Dane Schiller said. Prosecutors are expected to reveal probable cause in the case when he makes his appearance.

The allegations span six years, ending November 2017, authorities said.
