Daniel Whyte III, evangelist and bestselling author, has announced the second annual 21-day pre-Thanksgiving ‘Break Every Chain’ fast for believers who are overweight or obese to break the stranglehold and stronghold of gluttony in their lives
The fast will take place from Thursday, November 1, 2018, thru Wednesday, November 21, 2018. It is designed to help Christians who struggle with the sin of gluttony to refocus on more important spiritual matters and get control of their cravings ahead of the traditional late-November gorge-fest known as Thanksgiving in America. Those who participate in the fast can go on a Daniel Fast or a full juice-only fast.
Daniel Whyte III said last year, “I know we are in that season that gluttons such as myself just love. We love it; I’ve loved it for many, many years. I love the atmosphere that good food produces. But this year, by the grace of God, we’re going to hit this issue head-on. We’re not going to wait until January 10th to go on our traditional Daniel Fast.
“Instead, I want you to join me on a twenty-one day pre-Thanksgiving fast starting on November 1st. I’ve never gone on a fast in November. But, if you do this, when you get in the car to go see your family, you are going to look better, you are going to feel better, and you will have lost some pounds. And when you get there, you are not going to want to pig out like we normally do. You’ll eat a little bit on Thanksgiving, a little bit that Friday, a little bit on Saturday, and on Sunday. On Monday, we’re going to start an intermittent fasting lifestyle to lose whatever pounds we did gain — not dieting, but an eating pattern that will continue to cause the weight to go away and deliver us from obesity.”
The “intermittent fasting” that Whyte mentioned is a relatively recent health and fitness trend that people are using to lose weight and maintain a better quality of life. According to HealthLine, “Intermittent fasting (IF) is a term for an eating pattern that cycles between periods of fasting and eating. It does not say anything about which foods you should eat, but rather when you should eat them. Common intermittent fasting methods involve daily 16 hour fasts, or fasting for 24 hours, twice per week.”
Some health experts claim that intermittent fasting may be more natural than the typical pattern of 3-4 meals in a 24-hour period.
