Authorities believe a 23-year-old Del Valle woman found dead in southeastern Travis County, TX, on Friday was shot by her boyfriend in an apparent murder-suicide.

Travis County sheriff’s officials believe 26-year-old Omar Garcia shot his girlfriend Nancy Garcia and then killed himself. Both of their bodies were found outside their residence in the 12000 block of Von Quintus Road at around 7 a.m. Friday.

A passing motorist had noticed a man lying in the yard and called police, authorities have said.

Travis County sheriff’s officials said Nancy Garcia was found dead in the driver’s seat of a vehicle and Omar Garcia on the ground nearby.

Both had gunshot wounds, and a gun was found lying next to Omar Garcia, officials said.

The two were not married but were in a relationship, the sheriff’s office said.

Omar Garcia had been previously arrested for family assault, in an incident in which Nancy Garcia was the victim, authorities said.

Last month, the body of 31-year-old Johnny Cardenas was found about a block away in the 9800 block of Blocker Lane.

The sheriff’s office said his death appears suspicious but on Saturday said the two incidents do not appear to be connected.
