This past Sunday, July 15th, the House of Hope Atlanta posted the following message and video from morning services online, highlighting Pastor E. Dewey Smith, Jr.’s decision to tackle the issue of “church hurt” by publicly apologizing to a woman for a controversial 2014 incident that occurred at the church. See below:

Church Hurt is very real and can happen to anyone including the pastor. We, as a family, messed up in October of 2014, but today, by the grace of God, we got it right. It is our prayer that these words from Dr. Smith may give you comfort and guidance to navigate through the pain back to a loving, unbreakable relationship with God. #StopChurchHurt
