HTC revealed the launch date of its latest flagship phone on Twitter on Thursday morning: May 23.
“Coming Soon. A phone that is more than the sum of its specs,” the tweet read with a mysterious image showing different parts of a phone against a gray background.
The smartphone is expected to be the HTC U12 Plus, the successor to 2017’s U11. The U11 was mostly regarded as a impressive and beautifully designed phone. According to leaks, the U12 is believed to be waterproof and dust resistant with a glass casing, no headphone port and dual cameras on the front and back.
HTC used to be one of the top Android phone makers in the world, but recently, Huawei, ZTE, and OnePlus have overtaken it. LG, Huawei and OnePlus are also expected to launch new flagship phones later this month. Huawei and Samsung have already launched phones earlier this year.
