The homegoing service for Lady JoeNell Summerfield, wife of the late Bishop Frank Summerfield, is being held today (Monday, September 18th) at the Word of God Fellowship Church in Raleigh, NC.
Bishop T.D. Jakes will preside over the service and Bishop Steve Houpe, founder and senior pastor of Harvest Church International Outreach in Kansas City, MO, will deliver the eulogy. (Jakes eulogized JoeNell Summerfield’s husband after his death in early July 2017.)
The service is scheduled to take place from 11 AM to 2 PM; it is being preceded by a wake service from 10 AM to 11 AM. A tribute service was held at the church yesterday.

Travis Fowles, a spokesman for the church, said JoeNell Summerfield was “loving, caring, virtuous, direct and nurturing. She had a heart for people. She was supportive of her husband and the vision that God had given him.” In the wake of her husband’s death, she had relinquished her ministry duties and had been “resting, grieving and trying to regain her strength.”
Summerfield was born on Aug. 7, 1956, and was married to Frank Summerfield for 40 years. She is survived by the couple’s four children: Frank Jr., Mitchell, Joshua, and Valisha.
Mitchell Summerfield is now the senior pastor at Word of God Fellowship Church.
