WATCH: Actor Boris Kodjoe Speaks Candidly About Hollywood and Holy Matrimony

Actor Boris Kodjoe and wife Nicole Ari Parker have been married for 12 years. Throughout their marriage matriculation they have been deemed “Relationship Goals” by many of their colleagues in Hollywood, prompting many to inquire how they are pulling off a healthy marriage while in the industry, but not just that, they question how balancing their careers adds an extra dynamic to married life.

Time and time again, we have seen “Hollywood” marriages fail horribly. Whether the reason is irreconcilable differences or financial woes, being able to navigate Hollywood while staying happily married is a daunting task. Paradoxically, Boris Kodjoe and Nicole Ari Parker have taken it all in stride, as their careers remain effervescent and their marriage blossoms the colloquial term “relationship goals” is an understatement.

An example of their amazing chemistry is depicted in TV One’s Downsized which they just finished shooting. The acting duo is starring in a new film titled “Downsized” focused on teenage parents Ebony and Michael who were forced to marry and struggle to keep their family together. Their mutual interest in each other can be noticed even on film.

On the last day of production in Atlanta, Joy105 Digital Magazine was able to get up close and personal with the entire cast of Downsized. Alongside several other publications, we were afforded an opportunity for a little Q&A session. With the married couple sitting center looking me in the eye, it became readily apparent that this was not just another ordinary couple. The way Nicole looked at Boris as he answered questions showed an immense sign of interest as if she was learning from him. That’s very important because it means that she listens to him and it was vice-versa when she spoke. Of course, communication is key to maintaining a healthy marriage.
