Cleveland Man Sets Estranged Wife’s House on Fire After She Asked Him for a Divorce

A Cleveland man allegedly broke into his estranged wife’s home and set it ablaze causing $14,000 of damage to the property.

Ranau Johnson’s, 35, wife asked him for a divorce hours before the attack court according to court documents.

He told his 34-year-old wife: ‘I will see you dead before I see you with anybody else.’

At 10.30pm Johnson allegedly broke into his wife’s home on the 4300 block of East 142nd Street and poured gasoline in the basement.

His wife was at home at the time with her uncle and saw Johnson start the blaze.

Johnson escaped in his car.

The two then rushed out of the house according to Cleveland.com.

His wife and her uncle suffered minor injuries.

He faces charges of aggravated arson. His bond was set at $100,000 over to Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court.

The couple had received their marriage license online.
