It was a star-studded night! The room was mixed with all nationalities with one common denominator in mind to celebrate the accomplishments of some of America’s best in the African American Community!

It was an honor to see 4 black preachers respected in a positive light! Dr. E. Dewey Smith, Jamal Bryant, John Gray and Orrick Quick represented!

Ebony Magazine spared nothing in saluting these Power 100. The audience was graced with the presence of the living legend Cicely Tyson. There are just no words to describe the elegance and class of this woman!

Black brilliance, creativity, and genius filled a packed room at the Beverly Hills Hilton in Los Angeles Thursday night during the 2016 EBONY Power 100 Gala. Hosted by comedian Cedric the Entertainer, the annual celebration honored remarkable individuals who have not only blazed a trail as power players in their respective fields spanning across community and corporate leadership, technology, innovation, media, philanthropy and the arts, but have been standout personalities representing the African-American community in general.

R&B super-group Earth, Wind & Fire and beloved award-winning actress Cicely Tyson were honored with EBONY Lifetime Achievement Awards at the event, while legendary songwriter, producer and performer Nile Rodgers was presented with the Icon Award. This in addition to Ava DuVernay, John Legend, Simone Biles and Nas gracing this year’s Power 100 issue covers as strong examples of 2016’s most valuable players. They were part of a list of dozens of examples of Black Excellence recognized each year by EBONY.
