Simone Biles won her third Olympic gold by capturing the vault title at Rio Olympic Arena on Sunday.
It was the latest achievement in a long line of them. Biles led the Americans to team gold last week before claiming Olympic all-around gold.
The 19-year-old Texan has won the past three world championships and has a record 10 worlds gold medals. She has 14 total, including bronze on vault last year.
After that competition, she vowed to improve her second vault and has been even more consistent on her second vault, a Cheng, as she is on her first, an Amanar. Both are among the toughest being competed today.
She stays on pace to win an unprecedented five gold medals, with balance beam Monday the most questionable. Floor exercise is Tuesday.
