Revival Draws Thousands to Burlington, North Carolina, and to God

Thousands of people are flocking to Burlington, North Carolina, to experience a fresh move of God.

New Hope Baptist Church began a one-week revival on May 8, but Pastor Randy Hobbs and Evangelist C.T. Townsend sensed that God wanted to keep going.

Attendance numbers grew from 300 to 750 to more than 1,000 people, eventually forcing them to move to an outdoor tent. The revival meetings have been extended through July 1.

On the first night outside, 2,600 people showed up. On Youth Night, the crowd topped 5,000.

Hundreds have given their lives to Christ or rededicated themselves to following the Lord, Townsend said.

“I have never been a part of anything like it,” he told CBN News. “In my wildest imaginations, I would never have thought that God would have done what He’s done.”

“Every night I lay my head on my pillow and just stand amazed at what God is doing,” Townsend continued.

“It’s just amazing to be a part of this,” Hobbs shared with CBN News. “This is something we’ve been praying for in our church for several years.”

“We had been meeting over 15 years, praying for revival to touch us locally and nationally,” he continued. “And now we’re seeing what we’ve been praying about and to see how that God has just orchestrated this and how that God has brought it together.”
