The NFL will conduct an investigation into allegation that Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning had human growth hormone delivered to his house, The Associated Press reported Wednesday.
There is no timetable to complete the investigation, but it’s expected to be after the Broncos play the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50 on Feb. 7.
Al Jazeera reported last month that Manning’s wife received shipments of HGH from an Indianapolis anti-aging clinic. The report also said several other NFL players used HGH.
League spokesman Brian McCarthy told the AP that the inquiry began weeks ago, and involves reviews of records, interviews and coordination with other agencies.
When the report was first made, Manning vehemently denied he used HGH.
“The allegation that I would do something like that is complete garbage and is totally made up,” he said. “It never happened. Never. I really can’t believe somebody would put something like this on the air. Whoever said this is making stuff up.”
