A legendary football coach will be offering a Night of Hope to coaches and athletes in a Midwestern city next month.
Tony Dungy coached the Indianapolis Colts to a Super Bowl Victory in 2007 and is the number-one New York Times bestselling author of the books Quiet Strength, Uncommon and The Mentor Leader.
Dungy, who currently works as an analyst for NBC’s Football Night in America, will speak in Kansas City on the evening of November 2 for an event hosted by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
FCA’s Metro Kansas City director Marcellus Casey tells OneNewsNow one of the goals for the special evening is to build up coaches in their calling.
“Coaches are so overwhelmed,” Casey says. “They pour into the youth and high schoolers and the university athletes and even the pro athletes of our city.
“They have their own families as well as the athletes that they pour their lives into, and we just want to be a huge encouragement to coaches in our city and throughout our state because we believe that those coaches are the biggest influences in society right now.”
