You know Jamie Grace, but you might not know her older sister, Morgan Harper Nichols, a Christian songwriter and performer in her own right.
Morgan, 21 months older than her Dove Award winning sibling, has just released her self-titled debut album, which includes her previously released single, “Storyteller,” on TobyMac’s Gotee Records label. It is available on iTunes.
“‘Storyteller’ really sets the tone for being faithful over what God has given you,” she said in an interview. “Everything is for a reason, and we have to be faithful to Him because He’s faithful to us.”
The sisters will be traveling this summer with the “Fighters + Storytellers Tour,” which stops in Dothan on Sunday, June 21.
Both Morgan and Jamie Grace appear in the video for “Storyteller,” which Morgan wrote.
The song goes:
“You brought the pieces together
Made me this storyteller.
Now I know it is well, it is well
That’s the story I’ll tell.”
Morgan, 25, says she has been writing songs since age 15. “Even before I started singing and playing guitar, I loved to write,” she said. “That’s obviously my favorite part and how I’ve gotten into music.”
TobyMac tells it this way: “Just when you think Morgan’s songwriting gift overshadows her gifting as a singer and musician, she spins your head. She is THE triple threat! A deep well of soul-stirring lyrics as well as vocal and musical chops that will stop you in your tracks.”
