Even though it was Super Bowl Sunday in Arizona, there was a different kind of Super Bowl taking place at Greater Cincinnati churches.
While Super Bowl XLIX pitted the Seattle Seahawks against the New England Patriots, Crossroads Church hosted its 13th annual Super Bowl of Preaching, which showcased pastors Chuck Mingo and Brian Tome.
“What can you do to speak people’s language and meet them where they are? And where people are today is this weekend, their head is in the game of the Super Bowl.” senior pastor Tome said.
Attendees said the message of meeting people where they are was heard loud and clear around the auditorium Sunday.
“It’s a blast,” Tome said. “There are random phrases that we have to work in every quarter. It’s a lot of fun to do things like that.”
The band, the snacks and the commercials were all part of the message during the Super Bowl of Preaching.
