Among the nation’s 52 largest metro areas, Charlotte and Raleigh rank high when it comes to opportunities for African-Americans, according to Forbes.
The publication ranks Raleigh No. 2 for such opportunities, with Charlotte tied for No. 4 with Baltimore.
The rankings are based on three measures of economic success, using 2013 data: Homeownership, entrepreneurship (measured by the self-employment rate) and median household income. Growth in African-American population between 2010 and 2013 was given equal weight as a fourth factor.
