A 66-year-old stroke victim who used a walker was stabbed to death and his wife wounded when they came face to face with a burglar while entering their home after a birthday celebration with their grandkids, cops said.

Peter Gialluisi and his 66-year-old wife, Vincenza Gialluisi, arrived at their Venus Place home in Rossville, Staten Island, and encountered the creep about 9:50 p.m. Sunday as they opened a door in their garage after parking inside, cops and witnesses said.

The 20-year-old burglar, Dante Viggiano, went berserk, stabbing Peter Gialluisi in the face and hands and his wife in the head, neck and back, according to cops. He then fled into nearby woods.

Gialluisi’s wife ran across the street for help after her husband was felled.

“She was bleeding from her head, all over her body,” said David DiDia, who was visiting his sister across the street from the victim’s home Sunday night. “She was screaming, ‘My husband! My husband! They killed my husband!’ ”

Peter Gialluisi died at Staten Island University Hospital South, police said. He would have turned 67 Tuesday.
