As Netflix continues to grow its proprietary programming arsenal, the streaming service announced late Monday it’s producing a sequel to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon with the Weinstein Company as its first original movie.

The film, following the 2000 Oscar-winning movie, will hit Netflix and select IMAX theaters Aug. 28, 2015 — along with additional yet-to-be-announced original movies.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend will feature the return of star Michelle Yeoh in her role as Yu Shu-Lien. Donnie Yen will co-star and martial arts choreographer (The Matrix trilogy and both Kill Bill films) director Yuen Wo-Ping will helm the project. (The first film was directed by Ang Lee.)

“Fans will have unprecedented choice in how they enjoy an amazing and memorable film that combines intense action and incredible beauty,” said Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos in a news release. “We are honored to be working with Harvey Weinstein and a world-class team of creators to bring this epic story to people all over the world and to partner with IMAX, a brand that represents the highest quality of immersive entertainment, in the distribution of this film.”
