Acrimonious breakup?

That’s not a phrase that applies to Robin Thicke.

“For me, what I’m going through with my wife is us both trying to find a happier place with each other. We’re the best of friends. We talk every day. We’re happier right now,” says Thicke, who announced his split from actress wife Paula Patton back in February.

Thicke was on hand Tuesday night to help open the Express flagship store in Times Square.

And although he was here for a fashion event, the dapper Blurred Lines singer says he’s not all that familiar with the industry. “I like suits and leather jackets. My closet is not that big. I don’t like to live in the past,” he says.

He’s working on new music and using his personal life to fuel his creativity. “Because I have so much going on, I’m so inspired. I feel like I’m writing a song a day,” he says. “Oh man, all kinds of stuff (inspire me). Fame, desire, success, all kinds of stuff.”
