HUNTSVILLE, Alabama – Millie Bonham and Wayne Chasteen will emcee the 18th annual Spirit of the Season Christmas Concert, a Southern Gospel celebration, on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012.

The concert, which features some of the most beloved gospel quartets and groups from around the Tennessee Valley, will begin Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Lakewood Baptist Church, 2101 Mastin Lake Road in Huntsville.

Donations benefit the Downtown Rescue Mission, one of the city’s largest shelters for men, women and families.

Singers include the Kent Smith Family, The Galileans, Majestic’s Quartet, Will Smith, Joyful Hearts, Good News Boys, Rhyme & Reason, and Happy Melody Boys.

Also performing will be Gospel Heritage Four, The Servants Quartet, Heritage Quartet, New Vision Quartet, Millie & Friends, Eric St. Clair, We’re Looking Up, River City Quartet, The Holley Family, Jerry Miller, and Gem City Interstate Quartet.

And, of course, the congregation will be invited to sing Christmas carols.

“This concert is a Christmas season tradition,” Bonham said. “It means so much to so many, and it also means so much to the Downtown Rescue Mission, who receives the proceeds.”
