And All On the Watch of the Pastor of the Largest Church in America -- Joel Osteen
(Did Houston rather have a homosexual mayor,
than a black mayor again?)
Annise Parker made history Saturday as Houston's first openly gay mayor. Parker, who served five years as city controller, beat former city attorney Gene Locke with 53.6 percent of the vote in a runoff election.
Both are Democrats who faced off for the second time because neither emerged with more than 50 percent of the vote in the November 3 election.
Parker's election also makes her the second woman to become mayor of Houston. Other cities such as Providence, Rhode Island, and Portland, Oregon, have picked openly gay mayors. Houston is the fourth-largest U.S. city.
Parker's victory is also remarkable because a few years ago, Houston rejected a referendum to offer benefits to same-sex partners of city workers. Also, the city sits in a state where gay marriage is against the law.
"Houston is a multiracial, multicultural, international city. And I think my election will send a message to the world that Houston is a city that might surprise a lot of folks," Parker said before the runoff.

The love of money is the root of all evil.
advice to houstonians: get ye up out of dodge or sodom and flee, and don't look back lest ye turn into a pillow of salt. Remember lots wife.
What is an article like this doing on this web site? Didn't 99% of this site's readers vote for B. Hussein Obama? Did they not already know he was and remains the most radical homosexual and pro-abortion senator in the U.S. Senate?
No, friends, you are too little too late. You surrendered your convictions at the polling booth. Your words ring hollow.
are you conservative christians also against a... sex between heterosexuals. what are your rules?
do not touch your pardner within an inch of his or her a.... or all touching is allowed if there is no penetration. or is it penetration is allowed as long as it is not with a body member. or is it that all penetration is allowed as long as there is not the big O.
surely it is common knowledge that the a.... is an errogenous zone.
is it that god made a mistake.
or is it that its just about same gender sexual intimacy, because in spite of it being about mutual love, affection, devotion, respect, and trust for a shared committed life together as with heterosexuals its about...............?
or is it a religious issue? but it cant be antichristian becuase it doesnt come against the 2nd commandment(love your neighbor.....) the summation of all new covenant law and because the new covenant is without regulation as in deut 28.
perhaps someone can clue me in.
Both the Old and New Testament make it clear that you are to love your neighbor. Both the Old and New Testament make it clear that homosexuality is an abomination to God and guess what? According to the New Testament, those who participate in this act will not enter the kingdom of Heaven. God is a loving, forgiving God, but He is also a just God, and He has promised not to let sin go unpunished. I love all homosexuals. I love them enough not to want them to go to hell. The worst thing that could happen to anyone is for that person to die and spend eternity in hell. The best thing that could happen to anyone is for that person to receive the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. God has promised that those who receive this gift will spend eternal life in Heaven. One either believes God or doesn't. There is no in between. Why would I tell someone that I love that homosexuality is not a sin when God says it is. Why would I want my neighbor, someone I love, to go to hell? This life is short. Heaven and Hell are real? Where do you want to spend eternity? Have you accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior? Is he on the throne of your life?

Thanks anonymous for speaking the truth...in love. Too many of us [followers of Christ] have spoken truth...critically, harshly, and w/o an ounce of love. "If I speak w/ the tongues of men and of angels but have not love...I AM NOTHING..." (1 Cor 13)
John R - I am so unbelievably sorry that you have not SEEN professing Christians "walk the walk" of love. I fully agree with God's Word that homosexuality is sin and not His natural design, BUT, I also fully agree with God's Word that I am not to hate, belittle, mock, or harm anyone who does not agree with Him. I do not fear homosexuals, and, with 4 children, certainly do not fear sex. God created it for our enjoyment and "fruitfullness" as lifelong, married, heterosexual couples. I pray you will know how much God loves you with a true Father's love. He likes you. He made you. He also loves each of us enough not to let us stay in any path that's destructive to us. He knows best. His ways are higher than ours.
God have mercy on Houston...on those who have "called good evil, and evil good"...on those who are receiving "blood money...by shedding innocent blood." Please turn to Jesus Christ before it's too late. He is full of mercy and will forgive all your sin and cleanse you from all unrighteousness IF you humble yourself and cry out to Him. Houston...prepare yourselves. Believers: it is time to pray and fast like NEVER before. Do not let it be said of you, "Because you were neither hot nor cold, but lukewarm, I will spit you out of My mouth." This life is a V A P O R!!!
