Until President Obama finally selects the church his family will worship at, they are attending the same church President George W. Bush attended: Evergreen Chapel, the nondenominational church at Camp David.
According to a report in TIME--which jumped the gun in reporting that the Camp David Chapel was the Obama's final choice--presidents do not normally select the chaplain at Camp David. The current chaplain at Evergreen Chapel is Lt. Carey Cash, a great-nephew of Johnny Cash. He is reportedly a Southern Baptist who served a tour as chaplain with a Marine battalion in Iraq and baptized nearly 60 Marines during that time.
"The president and first family continue to look for a church home," White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said. "They have enjoyed worshipping at Camp David and several other congregations over the months, and will choose a church at the time that is best for their family."
