Two of Christian radio's most popular personalities are no longer hosting their Morning Show due to "family issues," according to the head of their radio station.
"They are dealing with family issues and while we wish we could say more we simply can't," says K-LOVE President Mike Novak in a statement posted on the Rocklin, Calif.-based station's website.
"We are respecting the privacy of people who have been part of our radio family for years and that respect is paramount right now," he added.
Jon and Sherry Rivers had been hosting the Morning Show on K-LOVE for over seven years and were reaching to listeners across the nation. K-LOVE claims listenership of 125,000 people each week via the Internet and more than 1.46 million listeners weekly on the radio network.
Since the Rivers' mysterious disappearance last week, hundreds of responses have been popping up throughout the blogosphere, some of which appear in their Facebook fan page, which they stopped updating on Mar. 24, last stating that they "are taking a few days off! Sleepin' in!"
"You guys are my caffeine in the mornings. You get me up and ready for the day," exclaimed Shirley Coker from Wilmington, N.C., one of the Rivers' nearly 12,000 Facebook fans. "You are in my thoughts and prayers!"
"When I heard the news on K-LOVE this morning that you would no longer be on the morning show, I was so surprised, and I immediately said a prayer for your family," added Nancy Gerardo from Phoenix, Ariz., on Saturday. "When something is taken from us so suddenly, we want to know why, but as believers we must remember that God is in control."
Since K-LOVE's announcement, all web pages regarding the Morning Show have been removed, leading to some protest and speculation from fans, many of whom said they were in tears after hearing the announcement.
K-LOVE president Novak, however, made clear that "life situation developed between Jon and Sherry apart from K-LOVE."
"I know all of this sounds vague and I wish that it was clearer but right now it's not," he stated.
"When we hear an update from Jon and Sherry we'll pass it along to you and at that point we will both know more," Novak added.
Prior to their disappearance, the Rivers were broadcasting the Morning Show each day from their 16-acre ranch in Dallas, Texas, where they've played host to Christian music artists such as Casting Crowns, Francesca Battistelli, Jimmy Needham, Matt Maher, among many others.
Their daughter, Lexi, also partook in broadcasts.

Jon and Sherry Rivers were an important & uplifting part of my mornings. When it was announced that they would no longer be there, I didn't know what to think. Unfortunately, the imagination is allowed to run rampant when it appears there is something to hide. People dream up their own scenarios.
I recently began supporting K-Love and am happy to do so, because I truly feel that the station plays a vital role in Christ's ministry. However, I do feel that the reluctance of the K-Love adminstration to reveal what actually happened with Jon and Sherrie is hurting the station's chances for financial support. If a sin was involved, oh well! There are only two 'perfect' Hands and they were nailed to a cross. We are all screw-ups; thankfully, this comes as NO surprise to our Father!!!

Please pass this along to Jon & Sherry - I was saddened to hear your news...not saddened by the fact that it changed my opinion of you, but saddened by the fact that I have just recently gone through the exact experience. I have a digenerative back condition called spinal stinosis which is a narrowing of the spinal column. I was employed at a pharmacy of which I was in charge of all inventory and drug ordering including narcotics. My doctor would not prescribe anything strong enough to help my back so I took matters into my own hands. I began taking pain killers for relief and this began a 2 year journey that had nowhere to go but down. It finally culminated about 1 month ago when I was let go from my job, and felony charges were filed. To try and make this short I will not do any time in jail or prison as I pled guilty. Why I am writing you is that I have a strong relationship with God and have had for some time. I have no doubt my salvation was real and intact. but my fellowship with God was broken. Not anymore. God has and will continue to use this situation to glorify himself. He will rise me above and use me for his Kingdom. Our situations did not catch God by surprise at all. He preordained it just like our days and he knew before there was anything on this earth that he would use you and I in great ways. In the last month God has begun to open more doors than ever. Ministries that I never imagined have now become available because of our Lord. Isn't he amazing? I know people are watching me now to see how I react to my situation and God gives me the strength to carry on no matter what. I have read many times 2Corinthians 12:2-10 about Paul's thorn and God's power being made perfect in his (my) weakness. I rejoice because God's power in manifested in my weakness and his grace is sufficient. Those are words of truth that I cling to along with the promise that he will never leave us nor forsake us. A great man like King David is no different from you and I Jon. He sinned, broked fellowship with God, repented and was forgiven and God did great things through an adulterer and murderer. He can and will do the same in us. We are all one bad decision away from where you and I are Jon. You are in my prayers my brother. Stand tall...you are a child of the most High God! Nothing trumps that!
