Burt Prelutsky was a TV writer a long time ago. Then he aged out of it and became a crank. This wasn't one of those major loses like Steinbeck. Now he writes a column for Townhall.com, the popular website owned by a Christian radio network.
Here's something from his current offering:
Take Michelle Obama...please. Every time I turn around, there she is on a magazine cover. Now, normally, like the Mafia, I lay off the spouses, but inasmuch as this particular spouse attended the same racist church as her hubby for 20 years, I'll make an exception in her case. After all, in spite of the fact that affirmative action got her an Ivy League degree and a $7,000-a-week salary and, moreover, has sent billions of dollars for no particularly good reason to Africa, she insists this is a mean country. The burning question in my circle is: if the First Family gets a female dog, will she be the First Bitch or will she have to settle for second place?

Wow. With all of the issues we have in this country, THIS is where he focuses his attention. I think the First Lady is setting a great example for All Americans, and women in particular. All of this hate from Burt Prelutsky is really a shame and truly misplaced.
Pray for her, don't deride her.
All of the childish hate being thrown at the first family is truly disgusting and Unamerican and certianly Unchristian coming from the party of family values. I always say, we can do without those "family values". Another example of a Christian organization, where it's difficult to find Christ anywhere in it.
Suffice it to say..... this man must live in a VERY SMALL circle and I mean that in more ways than one. Let's see if he can figure that one out. And guess what... I made it easy for him since I am sure he is not able to take advantage of an Affirmative Action Ivy League education.
We're the only people on earth that are constantly told and reminded to forget a part of our history,. Forget the past, forget what was done. We even hear that echoed these days by some dumb black folks! I say never forget, but put things in perspective, as we keep moving forward. AND HOW DOES ONE FORGET THE PAST..WHEN IT'S ALWAYS IN FRONT OF U? And don't give me the there's always a bad apple line.........
Ol' Burt considers himself a comedian, he probably feels he's entitled to a degree of impunity regarding language (and "political correctness"). Clearly, he's not funny but, ironically, he has done what real comedians can achieve - he's touched upon relevant feelings and values concerning our contemporary society. Ol' Burt's tone and approach speak to a backlash that we should be aware of. Our world isn't "post-racial" and folks like Ol' Burt are testaments of that fact. I only wish that you all had included Ol' Burt's quote that Mrs. Obama was a James Brown-look-alike.
Here is a guy who most likely, like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, has no more than a high school diploma, who most likely doesn't recognize that they all are in their positions due to white privilege, worse than any affirmative action ever graced upon a country with a history of injustices and hateful legacy, and who most likely believes that he and they are Christians but fails to see that he has no business speaking out loud.
Someone needs to tell Burty boy that Ivy League Schools are private and that admission to such schools, something that will never happen to him, has nothing to do with affirmative action; a government program designed to use public schools as vehicles for equality.
So already it's clear to me that he's an idiot, in an age of idiocy, just like his com-padres, Limbaugh and Hannity, idiots designed to keep America's social construct constructed. Nevertheless, he is a dangerous idiot, contributing to the already heavy burden black Americans must face in a hostile world of Europeans far removed.
While I appreciate some of the peaceful comments already written, I want to respond to one and admonish all of us that one does not forget the past, without peril, particularly when that past continues in time, continues in time like the aorist tense of the Greek verb, like the work Christ did for us, in a point in time but continuing into eternity. Our battle never ended, we simply fell asleep, we simply buried our heads in that proverbial sand. Follow the example of the Jews, forgive if you must, but never, never forget.
What ignorance! How sad that a so-called Christian would spew such venom. He needs prayer as do many other ignorant, hateful people. Racism does exist among many so-called Christians. As my daughter said many years ago the Moral Majority is Neither. I am an educated Democrat and a Christian and proud of it. I am also ashamed of other white people who cannot stand to see people of color achieve the heights our First Family as achieved. It is a sad day for the United States of America. I hope God will bless us in spite of the ugliness we are experiencing.

What lengths Burt Prelutsky will go to for an audience. I hope these are his views and not that of the Christain organization. I will not judge whether he is a Christian or not, but he needs to get on his knees and pray for forgiveness for such cruel words against First Lady Michelle Obama.
Let's not stoop to his ignorance, because a person passing by will not know who the ignorant person is.
Do not let such vemon poison our minds.
Man has his own agenda, but God has a plan for us all.
