Mon, May 27, 2019: Trump in Japan, holds meetings with Emperor and Prime Minister

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump will visit the Imperial Palace in Tokyo, Japan where they will attend a welcoming ceremony and participate in a State Call on the Emporer and Empress of Japan.

Later, President Trump will attend a series of working sessions with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan.

In the evening, the president and first lady will attend a State Banquet at the Imperial Palace.

President and Mrs. Trump are on a 3-day State visit to Japan during which he will be the first foreign leader to meet Japan’s new Emperor and the first U.S. president in modern history to set foot upon a Japanese warship.
