God Never Says, "You Did What!?"

Did you watch any of the snowboarders during the winter Olympics? You wonder how these athletes can perform the stunts they do knowing the potential disaster they face if they crash. Gold medalist Shaun White says they have to have considerable confidence in their own abilities.

Jesus says that distractions can keep our fruit from ripening: "The seed that falls among weeds stands for those who hear the word of God but the worries and the riches and the pleasures of life crowd in and choke them and their fruit never ripens." (Luke 8:14, Good News) If we want to be fruitful in ministry, then we need to get rid of the weeds in our lives and make room for what's important.

The Apostle Paul didn't have a cell phone or the Internet, yet he took the Gospel into the long-reaching corners of the Roman Empire.


When we're called to follow Christ; we're also called to belong to the Body of Christ.

Richard Baxter once said, "A surrendered life in the hands of a holy God is a fearful thing."
