"...The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." (James 5:16)

"The greatest thing anyone can do for God and man is pray."
--S.D. Gordon

All of our hearts have been blessed by the outpouring of love, shown through the giving of money, food, water, medical care and time, to the people of Haiti in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that struck the tiny country on January 12. My family and I have been a part of that and I am sure many of you have been as well.

Dear Daughters & YBW:

At the writing of this note, I am alone in my recliner thinking of how God has blessed me with so many beautiful and healthy children. I really thank the Lord for each one of you, and for the natural beauty that He has given to each of you.

Dear Daughters & YBW:

I trust that you are allowing God to be everything to you in these trying times. Over the years, God has honored our faith in Him and has worked countless miracles for my family and me. I am reminded of a time, one Thanksgiving, years ago, when we did not have much money, and we were very low on food.

"At the end of the day only one thing matters, and that's Jesus, Just Jesus, and nothing else."

It is for sure that the main thing that matters in life, is whether or not one has a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. To borrow biblical terminology, what really matters is: "What think ye of Christ, whose Son is He?"

Dear Daughters & YBW:

I trust that you are doing well today. I am doing fine.

As you go through this life, you will find many times that the only Person you can depend on in times of trouble is God. People who you thought were your friends will forsake you--even your family members will forsake you, but God has assured us in His Word that He will "never leave thee, nor forsake thee" (Hebrews 13:5). So, in this letter, I want to share with you how to let God be your main source--your all in all--in this life:

Dear Daughters & YBW:

I really want you to understand that God loves you. He really does. Now, I am not just saying that. Rather, I really want you to get it because so many young women have messed up their lives seeking love in all the wrong places.

Let God Talk to You, by Daniel Whyte III

daniel-whyte.jpgDear Daughters & YBW:

I trust that you are doing well today.

In this letter, I want to encourage you to let God talk to you. What I mean by this is, I want you to get into the habit of reading the Word of God -- the Bible -- on a regular basis. Let the Word of God be your guide -- not popular opinion, not your girlfriends, not your emotions, but the Word of God. Be a woman of the Word! Frankly, there is nothing more beautiful on God's green earth than a woman who lives by the Word of God, and not by her feelings and emotions. Men are attracted to her, women respect her and listen to her, and children love her. The Bible refers to this woman as a virtuous woman -- whose "price is far above rubies" (Proverbs 31:10). In other words, you cannot put a price on such a woman.
daniel-whyte.jpgAUTHOR'S NOTE: When I wrote this essay some time back I left out one interesting little fact, and that is, that I am the least likely individual to write anything about a holiday, much less a book. I say that simply because throughout my adult life, I have never celebrated any holidays including Christmas, not for any religious convictions, but, probably simply because I find holidays and birthdays vain, and a colossal waste of energy, money, and time. In fact, this will shock you, there were certain holidays that I used to hate to see come around, simply because places like the bank and the post office would shut down for no good reason, in my humble opinion.

Dear Daughters & YBW:

Yes, it is true: God loves His girls in a very special way, and He desires to hear from you regularly. Why does God want to hear from you? Well, He wants to hear from you for several reasons:
