This wasn't a march against Jim Crow in Montgomery, Birmingham, Jackson, Mississippi, or Cicero, The year wasn't 1963. The charged racial confrontation happened on March 14, 2010 in the self-billed All-American, mostly white Los Angeles suburban bedroom city of Torrance, California. The march was called to protest the unwarranted stop, search and harassment of Robert Taylor, a prominent Los Angeles African-American minister and civic leader by two white Torrance police officers on March 4. Following the stop, there were hundreds of outraged letters many filled with vile, crude, and profane racist pot shots at blacks, in local newspapers blasting Taylor and civil rights supporters.

The Taylor stop fit the all too familiar pattern of many unwarranted stops of black and Latino motorists. Torrance police officials claimed that he and the car he drove allegedly fit the description of a suspect and car involved in a robbery and assault a day earlier.

The problem is Taylor is not even remotely close in appearance to the description of the suspect. The picture circulated was of a short, stocky dark complexioned 30ish black male. Taylor is tall, in his 60s, and light complexioned.

Predictably, as in most racial profiling allegations, Torrance police and city officials hotly denied the profiling charge. They justified it with the stock story that crime is on the rise in the city, but offered no compelling stats to back up that claim. Taylor's stop would have likely ignited the usual finger pointing, charge swapping, and then faded fast except for one thing. Torrance has been slapped with a Justice Department lawsuit, civil rights lawsuits, court settlements, and hundreds of verbal complaints over the years by black and Latino motorists, shoppers, African-American mail carriers some in full uniform that work at postal stations in Torrance, and residents such as Taylor who allege they were racially profiled.

Torrance is hardly unique. The past decade, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Miami and other big and small cities have repeatedly been called on the carpet for alleged racial profiling. In an address to a joint session of Congress in 2001, then President Bush blasted racial profiling, "It's wrong and we will end it in America." It hasn't

The refusal to admit that racial profiling exists by many public officials and many in law enforcement has done much to torpedo nearly every effort by local and national civil rights and civil liberties groups to get law enforcement and federal agencies not only to admit that racial profiling happens but to do something about it. The throng of white protestors that harangued the blacks and other supporters who protested the Taylor stop in Torrance was ample proof of that.

A perennial federal bill served up by House Democrat John Conyers to get federal agencies to collect stats and do reports on racial profiling hasn't gotten to first base. A similar racial profiling bill met a similar fate in California in 1999. The bill passed by the state legislature mandated that law enforcement agencies compile racial stats on traffic stops. It was promptly vetoed by then Democratic governor Gray Davis.

Despite Davis's veto, nearly 60 California city and county police departments, the California Highway Patrol, and University of California police agencies either through mandatory federal consent decrees or voluntarily collect date on unwarranted traffic stops of motorist and contacts civilian to determine if there is a racial bent to the stops. Torrance is not one of those cities.

Nationally, 46 states collect data either voluntarily or compelled by state law on unwarranted pedestrian contacts and traffic stops. Most police officials, as in Torrance, loudly contend that good police work is about the business of catching criminals and reducing crime, not about profiling blacks and Latinos. If more black and Latino men are stopped it's not because they're black or Latino but because they commit more crimes. The other even more problematic tact used to debunk racial profiling is the few statistics that have been compiled on unwarranted stops. In this case not by police agencies but based on citizen responses. In two surveys, the Federal Bureau of Justice Statistics took a hard, long quantified look at racial profiling using information that it got from citizens. Both times, the agency found that while whites are stopped, searched and arrested far less than blacks or Latinos, there was no hard proof that the stops had anything to do with race.

This has done even more to damp down a public outcry to get police agencies and legislators to admit that racial profiling is a fact on many city streets and highways and then to take firm action to eliminate it.

The arrest last July of Harvard University Professor Henry Louis Gate's touched off a brief furor over racial profiling. Taylor's stop and search has done the same in a bedroom Southern California city. It has again cast the ugly glare on the always troubling problem of racial profiling.

Jesus did not come to condemn the world but to save anyone who believes in Him (John 3:17). Consider His response to the woman whom the Pharisees dragged from an adulterous liaison and dropped at His feet. Her accusers wanted the offender stoned to death. But instead of taking up a rock, Jesus offered her forgiveness. The Lord did not defend her actions or completely erase all consequences of her choices. However, He did offer her compassion and an opportunity to turn her life around: "Go. From now on sin no more" (John 8:11).

God understands our human frailty. And even before we do wrong, He knows the poisonous harvest that we will reap from sin. We certainly want a lot of comfort when we are suffering from our own foolishness. A loving God does not abandon His children at their hour of great need--His Spirit wades into the mess we have made. He offers to guide us out of the pit, soothes our broken heart, and provides reassurance that He is always close by.

Sinning against the Lord makes us feel unworthy of His care and solace. Yet God's forgiveness is based on His great mercy rather than our conduct. If Jesus Christ sacrificed His life to save you from your sins, then He certainly will love and comfort you, no matter what.

CNN adds, "Of that amount, an estimated $5.6 trillion will be in interest alone."

The Post continues: "The CBO (Congressional Budget Office) and the White House (are) ... both predicting a deficit of about $1.5 trillion this year -- a post-World War II record at 10.3 percent of the overall economy. But the CBO is considerably less optimistic about future years, predicting that deficits would never fall below 4 percent of the economy under Obama's policies and would begin to grow rapidly after 2015.

"Deficits of that magnitude would force the Treasury to continue borrowing at prodigious rates, sending the national debt soaring to 90 percent of the economy by 2020, the CBO said."

CNN adds that "By 2020 the (CBO) estimates debt held by the public would reach $20.3 trillion, or 90 percent of GDP. That's up from 53 percent of GDP in 2009."

I suspect that most Americans, if asked whether these numbers trouble the Democratic leadership and President Obama, would answer in the affirmative.

They would be wrong.

They would be wrong not because the Democratic Party or the president are economically illiterate or bad individuals, but because the Democratic Party and the president are leftists. And most Americans, including most Democrats, do not understand the left. They may understand liberalism; but President Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and most Democratic representatives and senators are not liberals; they are leftists. And most Americans do not understand the difference between liberal and left. They do not realize, for example, that there is no major difference between the American Democratic Party and the leftist social democratic parties of Western Europe. They do not know that from Karl Marx to Obama, the left (as opposed to liberals) has never created wealth because it has never been interested in creating wealth; it is interested in redistributing wealth.

Therefore, unprecedented and unsustainable debt, a debt that will negatively affect most Americans' quality of life, renders the dollar increasingly undesirable, and undermines America's prestige and power in the world -- these developments do not particularly disturb the left. They may trouble the president, the Democratic Party, and others on the left on some political level, but that pales in comparison to what the left really wants: a huge government overseeing a giant welfare state and a country with far fewer rich Americans.

Achieving those goals is far more important than preventing a decline in the American quality of life. The further left one goes, the more contempt one has for the present quality of American life in any event. The left regularly mocks many of the symbols of that life -- from the three-bedroom suburban house surrounded by a white picket fence to owning an SUV (or almost any car) because Americans should be traveling on public buses, trains and bicycles.

As for the dollar, I can bear personal testimony to the decline of the dollar's prestige. I am writing this column in Morocco. In Casablanca, my wife and I and another couple hired a Moroccan driver for the day. And when it came time to pay, the man refused to accept dollars; he wanted to be paid in either Euros or Moroccan dirhams. Yes, dirhams rather than dollars. But the demise of the dollar as the world's currency disturbs the left as much as does America's not getting a gold medal in curling at the Winter Olympics.

And as for America wielding less power in the world, that is a positive development for the American left. It is the world community as embodied in the United Nations that should wield power throughout the world, not an "overstretched," "imperialist" and "militarist" United States.

I used to believe that left and right have similar goals for America, that they just differed in the means they wanted used to get there. I was mistaken. The left has a very different vision of America than those who hold the founding values of America, most especially individualism and small government. And if the price of a once in a lifetime possibility of getting to a giant welfare state dominated by the left is America's steep financial decline, that is a price fully worth paying.

Our nation has a rare and historic opportunity to expand coverage to tens of millions of people, make coverage more affordable for all families, and crack down on many of the most harmful practices of the health insurance industry.

We are writing because of our concern about the lack of clear and accurate information regarding abortion provisions in the health care reform bill passed by the Senate on December 24, 2009.

Reforming our health care system is necessarily complex, and the provisions related to abortion, or any other issue, require careful examination of the facts as they exist in the legislative language. We believe that the provisions below provide extensive evidence that longstanding restrictions on federal funding of abortion have been maintained. Furthermore, this bill provides new and important supports for vulnerable pregnant women.

We are now at a critical moment in the history of our country. More than 30 million Americans may finally gain access to a health care system that is affordable -- providing families, children and seniors with fundamental care that is essential to human dignity. We respectfully ask that you make an informed decision about this legislation based on careful deliberation guided by facts.

in its 13th year, it is a fantastic month to get started on your book
project(s) that you have longed to write, publish, distribute, market,
promote, and publicize through the publishing industry.

During this month, there is a heightened awareness surrounding the
outstanding contributions of the small, independent, and
self-publishers that work diligently in this industry. We publish
great works that are loaded with tremendous insights and messages to a
plethora of readers that crave to read good books. In 2005, close to
80% of all published books were published by small and independent
publishers. Step out on faith and write something that uplifts,
encourages, and inspires, while praising God from whom all blessings
flow.

The
Independent Book Publisher's Association (IPBA) is a strong advocate
for independent and self-publishers. They suggest the following ways
to help promote Small Press Month:

1. Contact your local
bookstore or library and suggest they put together a special display
for National Small Press Month. You can obtain posters from: Small
Press Month Coordinator, PMA, Independent Book Publishers Association,
627 Aviation Way, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266; 310.372.2732. Orders come
in units of five.

2. Suggest that your local bookstore
offer a discount off Small Press titles this month. Offer a special
discount on all of your titles.

3. Hold a seminar
on "How to Get Published" or on a subject related to your books. You
might wish to cooperate with other small presses in your area to get
this event off to a roaring start. You might wish to charge a nominal
fee for the seminar.

4. Contact the Book Review
editor at your local daily newspaper about any events that you plan.
Also speak to the Features Editor. The Business Editor is usually
interested in a successful publishing story.

5. Send IBPA a list of participating bookstores and libraries. PMA can send them publicity and display material.

6. Be sure to inform IBPA and the Small Press Center about any activities you have planned for the month. That way, we can
include your plans in their national database and mention your events when we are in touch with the media.

7.
Get in touch with weekly papers and magazines in your area about
readings or events and submit the information to the Listings Editor.

8.
Approach an interviewer at a local radio station about airing a segment
on, for instance, the problems and rewards of running a small press, or
set one up for an author.

9. Make arrangements
with any local non-bookstore outlet that is appropriate for any of your
books. For example, if you publish cookbooks, a grocery store might
display them up near the check-out for National Small Press Month,
particularly with a special discount as an incentive.

10.
Try for an interview at your local daily or weekly paper, remember that
the media is always pleased to find to find that there are successful
publishers and writers in the neighborhood. So pitch not only yourself,
but also your colleagues.

11.
If you have a personable, articulate author who is available to speak
in his or her area, set up interviews with local television or radio
stations.

12. Schedule an interview for yourself
at your local television station for National Small Press Month. Be
sure to offer visuals if available. Footage of an author doing research
in a foreign country, or a sports book author on the ski slopes, for
example, would be helpful to getting TV time. Focus on the unique
angles of your books and authors.

13. Band
together with other small presses and compile a combined exhibition of
titles in a subject area. Offer your library the ready-made exhibit of
locally published books in the areas you choose.

14.
Find a college or university that would be receptive to a roundtable
discussion on a topic like: "The Growth of Independent Media", "What is
a Free Press?" or "The First Amendment and Mainstream Media"

15.
A talk to elementary, junior high, or high school students about being
an author could be a highlight of school programs during the month.

16. Use excerpts from a current or upcoming book on your website. An entire chapter is more engaging than just a short passage.

17.
Arrange readings and signings from your list to be held during National
Small Press Month at your local bookstore and library.

18. Plan a group reading or event with other local independent presses and make night out of it.

19.
Take National Small Press Month posters to your local bookstore or
library and be sure that they are displayed and distributed.

20. Join with
other small and independent presses and take out a co-op ad in your local newspaper.

21.
Be sure that every local organization to which you belong to displays a
poster about National Small Press Month and has your catalogue
available as a handout for Small Press Month.

22. If you have one, keep your alumni magazine up to date about you and your small press.

23.
Host a book event in your office for the press, booksellers and other
friends of your publishing house. Celebrate National Small Press Month!

24.
Gather together all your press cuttings and document the successes of
National Small Press Month and please send to Mark Kohut for use next
year. Send care of the Small Press Center, 20 West 44th Street, New
York, NY 10036.

25. Link to the Small Press Month website from your own: www.smallpressmonth.org
.

26.
Send out e-mails to your customer mailing list announcing the approach
of National Small Press Month, and the events you have planned. A
weekly digest of news would be an effective way to keep the momentum
going throughout March.

27. Contact other small
and independent arts organizations in your area- record labels,
theaters, and art galleries, for example- and link to each other's
websites, promote each other's events, and support the independent arts
community!

28. Run a contest through your e-mail
newsletter, asking for ten titles of famous independently published
books. The winner can receive one of your books, or a collection of
them.

29. Contact other independent publishers
and set up together a small book fair during the month at a local
college or community center

30. Evaluate authors'
pitches - offer to set up a program at a bookstore or library where
authors, on the understanding you are there to give general advice, can
make a five minute pitch to you about their manuscript.

Publishing Industry News

4

The

And as usual, I both agree and disagree with him. Find out why.

In a recent New York Times column, Nicholas Kristof credits evangelicals with pushing for AIDS and malaria programs and for "doing superb work on issues from human trafficking in India to mass rape in Congo."

This is in contrast, he says, to the "save-the-worlders,"--that is, liberals. Kristof credits liberals for being concerned about poverty because for decades, they have supported big-government programs for the poor and sick, both at home and abroad. But since when is supporting government-run programs the only way, or even the best way, to help the world's poor?

A new book by African economist Dambiso Moyo, titled Dead Aid, shows that sending billions of taxpayer dollars to Africa does often more harm than good.

Kristof also writes about the penchant of evangelicals to focus more on sexual morality than on helping the needy.

And this is where I do disagree. A thoroughly Christian worldview doesn't categorize truth--moral truth, economic truth, etc. How we live our lives in our marriages or outside of our marriages affects every aspect of our lives.

For example, studies have shown that much poverty in the U.S. is sexually driven. That is, many children are poor because they were born out of wedlock. And as Robert Rector and Melissa G. Pardue write on the Heritage Foundation website, "The collapse of marriage is the principal cause of child poverty in the United States. Children raised by never-married mothers are seven times more likely to live in poverty than children raised" by married parents. I've seen this close-up in the prisons over the years, where almost 90 percent of the inmates have no father role model.

So those big-government anti-poverty programs liberals love don't really do so much to help the poor--because they don't address the root causes of poverty. Which brings me to those poverty-fighting programs run by evangelicals that liberals overlook.

For instance, evangelicals promote abstinence-only education--something Kristof opposes. And we volunteer at pregnancy care centers nationwide.

How do those things fight poverty? A recent study, which made the front page of the Washington Post, confirmed that abstinence-only sex education is more effective than any other approach in convincing kids to wait until they are married to have sex. Given how much poverty is caused by an unchaste lifestyle, abstinence education is a powerful poverty-fighter.

Pregnancy care centers also recommend abstinence to their unmarried clients. And they invite pregnant, unmarried teens to consider making an adoption plan for their babies--a recommendation that would allow children to grow up with financially stable, loving couples, not in poverty.

I'm grateful to Nick Kristof, and it's nice to be praised in the New York Times for the good that we do. But it's time to remind the world that the Church has been fighting poverty longer--and better--than governments have.

It's another example of the difference worldviews make. We now have an abundance of evidence that reserving sex for marriage, as Christianity teaches, isn't being prudish or Victorian as our critics charge. It's good for society. Abstinence education turns out to be a very effective poverty-fighting program.

Gordon

All of our hearts have been blessed by the outpouring of love, shown through the giving of money, food, water, medical care and time, to the people of Haiti in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that struck the tiny country on January 12. My family and I have been a part of that and I am sure many of you have been as well.

But, friend of mine, there are still some things that only God can do in a situation like that which the people of Haiti are in right now. That is why prayer is the one thing that Haiti needs the most right now. Through prayer, we ask God to come in to a situation and do with it as only He can. The people of God all over the world need to fervently pray for Haiti and its people right now and for years to come. And the people of God in Haiti need to pray for themselves as well.

Have you ever heard a dear saint pray the following: "Lord, please do what only You can do"? Well, there are some things that only God can do. And there are some things that need to be done in Haiti that only God can do. The Haitian people have needs that only God can meet. There are things that need to be fixed that only God can fix. There are people who need to be healed that only God can heal.

Have you ever sung or heard the hymn, "Come, Ye Disconsolate Wherever Ye Languish"? The words of that hymn aptly describe where the people of Haiti are right now. Below are the words of this blessed song, and nobody can sing it like the Sensational Nightingales, so I included an audio of them singing it below. May it bless your heart.

Come, ye disconsolate, where'er ye languish,
Come to the mercy seat, fervently kneel.
Here bring your wounded hearts, here tell your anguish;
Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.

Joy of the desolate, light of the straying,
Hope of the penitent, fadeless and pure!
Here speaks the Comforter, tenderly saying,
"Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot cure."

Here see the Bread of Life, see waters flowing
Forth from the throne of God, pure from above.
Come to the feast of love; come, ever knowing
Earth has no sorrow but heaven can remove.

However, all of us have a little accountant (or maybe BIG ACCOUNTANT) already in us. We take an account of offenses. An account is a record, and unfortunately, we record (and re-record) offenses.

After a week of dealing with people who over-promised and under-delivered, I was at my wit's end and wanted to shut everyone out. I found myself venting my frustrations in prayer one morning, as I complained about each and every thing people had or had not done. The ranting went like this: "Lord, you know how hard I worked to get the job done, and you saw how X said she would do one thing and did another". And, "Lord, why did X pretend that she was going to the event, while knowing full well that she was planning not to go". And Lord, why did X say she would pay back a loan on a specific day and not meet the deadline?

At the end of my tirade that still, small, and calm voice that lives in me asked, "And why are you so easily offended?" I already knew the answer, because I had read many of times that offenses will come. My ability to become easily offended was a mark of immaturity. We've already been told:

Jesus, when talking about the destruction of the temple said in Matthew 24:10, "And then will many be offended, and will deliver one another up, and hate one another;

Mark 4:16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended

So, instead of continuing my complaints, I decided to forgive everyone who had offended me. I remembered the Lord's Prayer in Luke 11:14, "Forgive us our sins; for we also forgive everyone who has offended us." Now, I had to do this several times throughout the day because the offensive thoughts re-occurred. Now each time an offensive thought occurs, I forgive again and again--until the thoughts ceased.

The reconciliation for offenses is forgiveness.

Vice President Joe Biden says the Palestinians deserve a
state. He has traveled to the Mideast to press the Israelis to
surrender more territory more quickly to what has been termed the
  Palestinian Authority.

The Obama administration is giving $900
million of our money to the Mahmoud Abbas regime on the West Bank
of the Jordan River, supposedly for "humanitarian" causes. This
administration went out of its way to avoid being seen as
"meddling" with Iran, but it shows no such restraint with Israel.
Meanwhile, the Palestinians go on naming schools for suicide
bombers and coaching their children to emulate these bombers. But
somehow they are viewed as "partners" in the mythical peace
  process.

The Obama administration's position is that Israelis should
withdraw from the West Bank and leave the entire regions of Judea
and Samaria to the Palestinians -- all in the interest of a
comprehensive Mideast peace settlement. What happened when Israel
did evacuate from Gaza? Hamas promptly took over.

Have President Obama, Vice President Biden or Secretary Clinton
ever stopped to ask why is it in the interest of the U.S. to
foster a Judenrein on the West Bank? That terrible word
-- which comes to us from the time of the Holocaust -- means a
region cleared of Jews. We need to understand that Jews have
lived in this region since biblical times. If Jews have no right
to live in Judea and Samaria, why do they have a right to live in
Tel Aviv, which was founded only in the early 20th century?

Why indeed. Mahmoud Abbas is the head of a shaky government that
has lost most of its appeal to its own people. That's because he
is not considered radical enough or violent enough.

When an election was held in Gaza, the residents there voted
against Abbas's Fatah crowd and for the openly terrorist Hamas.
Hamas regularly sends missiles into Israel from their Gaza
fortress. World media blasted the Israelis for alleged attacks on
hospitals in Gaza during a recent incursion, but Hamas routinely
stores missiles in hospitals and uses ambulances to transport
  them. So much for "humanitarian."

Mahmoud Abbas long served on the Palestinian Liberation
Organization's (PLO) executive council. The PLO is the
predecessor to the so-called Palestinian Authority. Abbas was the
loyal lieutenant of Yassir Arafat. Arafat founded the PLO. He
invented airline hijacking for terror purposes. Many of us recall
the headlines the PLO won for these terrorist attacks -- not just
airlines but the 1972 Olympics, kindergartens in Israel, and
peaceful cruise ships. Many of us have not forgotten it was
Arafat who gave orders for the murder of U.S. Ambassador Cleo
  Noel in Sudan in 1972.

Leopards don't change their spots. Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah party
emblem proves it: All of Israel disappears in the map it
shows of the Mideast -- not just the West Bank, not just Gaza.
When Vice President Biden stumps for a "contiguous" Palestinian
state, he plays right into Fatah's hands.

Today, Palestinian media continue uninterruptedly to spew the
most hateful caricatures of Jews. And Palestinian children
continue to be indoctrinated in all their schools with hatred of
Israel and all Jews. Only now, Americans are footing the bill.

When Arafat died, Abbas stepped up to take his place. Here's what
the U.S. Government had to say about the PLO in 1988, the year
that we supposedly achieved a breakthrough for peace in the
  Mideast.

U.S. Government has convincing evidence that PLO elements have
engaged in terrorism against Americans and others. This
evidence includes a series of operations undertaken by the
Force 17 and the Hawari organizations since the PLO claimed to
foreswear the use of terrorism in the Cairo declaration of
November 1985. As Chairman of the PLO, Mr. Arafat is
responsible for actions of these organizations which are units
of Fatah, an element of the PLO of which he also is chairman
and which is under his control.

The most recent sign of Mr. Arafat's associations with
terrorism was the presence at the Algiers session of the
Palestine National Council this month of Abu Abbas, a member of
the Executive Committee of the PLO who has been convicted by
the Italian judicial system of the murder of an American
citizen, Mr. Leon Klinghoffer. In summary, we find that:
* The PLO, through certain of its elements, has employed
    terrorism against Americans;
* Mr. Arafat, as Chairman of the PLO, knows of condones, and
lends support to such acts; he, therefore, is an accessory to
    such terrorism;
* Terrorism and those involved in it are a serious threat to
    our national security and to the lives of American citizens;
    and
* The headquarters agreement, contained in Public Law 80-357,
reserves to us the right to bar the entry of those who
represent a threat to our security.

In those days, we would not even allow Arafat to enter our
country. We correctly branded him and his cohorts terrorists and
mass murderers. Over time, we somehow have convinced ourselves
that if we pay them enough and pet them enough, these leopards
will purr like kittens. Why? Nothing we have seen in the two
decades since then should convince us that the PLO has changed
its spots, whatever it is calling itself these days.

Like afterthoughts of an artist, lines have been etched upon her brow. Her arms are much weaker now and her gait much slower; but she is somehow warmer at life's winter age than she was in the summer days. All of life's tragedy has been wrestled to the mat and still she stands to attest to the authenticity of her goals, dreams and ambitions. What is wrong with hanging around the stage to collect an encore from a grateful audience whose lives have been touched by the beauty of your song? Just because the glare of summer doesn't beat upon your face doesn't mean that there is nothing left for you to do. Whose presence will stand as a witness that God will see you through? Who will care to catch a glimpse of your children run their race or catch them when they fall beneath the weight of their day? God never extends days beyond purpose. My daughters are in their springtime, my wife is in the middle of summer, and my mother is walking through autumn to step into winter. Together they form a chord of womanhood--three different notes creating a harmonious blend. To the reader, I would suggest: Enjoy every note.

While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease (Genesis 8:22).

Our culture has celebrated youth to such a degree that we have isolated the elderly. The Hollywood mentality accentuates the dynamics of youth as though each season of life didn't have its own beauty. Anyone who observes nature will tell you that all seasons have their own advantages and disadvantages.

Keep it exercised in union with the whole armour of God. The Devil skillfully uses words, and actions to attack us. We are to expertly counter his words and deeds with more skillful usage of the Word of God with signs following. Our distinction is that when we please God, our words are delivered with a force of power that the Devil cannot conquer. We are more than conquerors through Him that loves us. There is no way that Satan can overthrow children of God who are in the perfect will of our Father.

Remember that the Devil quoted scripture to Jesus. Jesus responded to Satan with scriptures. (Matthew 4). The awesome difference was that Jesus, with his uttered scriptures, had the incomparable benefit of the force, and power of our Father God. Jesus fed the Devil what the Devil ate with contempt for what was from the menu but he had no choice but to digest it. Satan had nothing delectable on that front.

Holy Christians always have the advantage - always. The Devil talks trash because he is trash. Who are we? What does the word of God say? In 1 Peter 2:9, it says, "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:." We are who God says that we are. We need to act like we know this pure truth with proof evident that we have embraced that profound awareness imparted to us by God. How has God positioned us? We shall cleave to the revelation of righteousness.

We do not owe any allegiance to Satan. We need to operate with absolute certainty that we are kept by Almighty God who is completely fearless in the face of the Devil. Our role is to be living, walking examples of the identity of God - as we are created in His image. He abides in us - our charge is to prove to Satan that we know whose we are, and who we serve. God is working with us to confirm His word with signs following (Mark 16:20).

Dry bones live (Ezekiel 37). God is going to resuscitate "living" dead, faint-hearted, shame-faced, and unprofitable Christians. Some will re-enlist just as Peter did. Peter converted, and became a major menace to the domain of the Devil. God's word says about Peter, "...and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren." (Luke 22:32). A revitalized army is being formed with potent Jesus energy in portions that will be in the overflow. God is not excited about propped-up, mealy-mouthed, going with the masses people. God's Word says, "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:" (Matthew 7:13). Our Lord has delight in solid soldiers who stand up, speak with power, and manifest that the only flow that has power is flow comprised of continual obedience to God.

Are we feeding the Devil bones or the meat of God's truth? Spiritually, are we lean or robust in what we daily ingest? Spiritually, are we sound in our nutritious consumption and disgestion? Are we sufficiently weighing our choices, and unloading unnecessary calorie content? Who are we dining with, and why? Are we there to present Jesus or to embrace an agenda that is of the Devil? What do we swallow - truth or the doctrines of devils? Are we replete with appetizers but low on main courses? Are we into dips or going whole hog for God?

Prayer: Blessed Father God, please feed us with spiritual sustenance to keep us rooted and grounded in Your love with grace and truth multiplied. Let the peace of God rule in our hearts as we follow after righteousness equipped to do effective battle against the dominion of the Devil. Help us to tear down his strongholds, destroy his works, and recruit his soldiers. Let us make them aware with Your living proofs that they are fighting on the side that will not win. Expose to them that the Devil does not love them, but that You do. Provide us the counsel that we need to feed the Devil hefty portions of Your word, obedience, and praise to You, with fervent loyalty to Your causes. Lord, we need You - we cannot do this without You. Teach us, O Righteous Father, and King of saints, how to continually bring You joy, pleasure, and delight. And let us do as You instructed, "Feed my sheep." (John 21:16).

Sandra Renee Hicks

P.O.
