Let God Control You

Dear Daughters & YBW:

I am writing this letter from the Gospel Light Bible Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. I trust that you are doing well.

Since I have started writing these letters to you, several things should have happened in your life: God should have touched you with salvation through Jesus Christ; God should be hearing from you through prayer; God should be speaking to you through His Word; God should be filling your life with love; God should be your all in all; God should be making you into a woman of faith; and, God should be making you beautiful from the inside out.

In this letter, I want to lovingly share with you the importance of letting God control your life. Please notice with me this very powerful verse: "This is the word of the Lord...Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts" (Zechariah 4:6). The verse above is what I consider to be my life's verse. I am a firm believer that if God, through His Holy Spirit does not do it, it won't be done. In other words, if we want to see true success in our lives, God is the one who will make it happen, not us. So let me strongly encourage you here to be a woman who allows God to control her, lead her, and guide her by His Holy Spirit because that is where the power is.

The Holy Spirit is your friend and life long help. Consider with me this verse from John 15:26: "But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of Me." Consider also this verse in John 16:13: "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come."

Notice in this verse that the Holy Spirit is here to comfort you and guide you throughout your life. If you walk in the power of the Holy Spirit, good things will be manifested in your life. The Bible calls these things the fruit of the spirit, which are: "...love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law" (Galatians 5:22, 23). When you let God control your life through the power of the Holy Spirit, the God of the universe can make something beautiful out of your life, and then you can relish in His peace and victory.
