Four security guards were shot—one fatally—when a gunman opened fire from a car outside the Love Machine nightclub in Melbourne, Australia, early Sunday morning. Police do not believe the incident is terror related, according to the BBC. Victoria Detective Andrew Stamper said the injured men sustained “horrific” injuries. “This is just a horrendous act. It’s a busy nightclub, one of the main nightclubs in Melbourne in one of the main entertainment precincts in Melbourne.” The shooter is still at large. Mass shootings in Australia are rare since the country changed its gun laws in 1996 after a mass shooting in Port Arthur, Tasmania that left 35 people dead.
