Trump Does It His Way, Feeds College Athletes Fast Food—Again—During Official White House Visit

President Donald Trump fed college athletes fast food for a second time during an official White House visit, CNN reports. The champion North Dakota State Bison football team ate McDonald’s and Chick-fil-A during their celebration with Trump on Monday. “We could’ve had chefs, we could have, but we had fast food—because I know you people,” Trump reportedly told the team, which laughed. “Chick-fil-A, they say? Chick-fil-A.” The president said he was catering fast food for the event because he was supporting U.S. companies. “We like American companies, OK?” he said, adding that he would also have a sandwich but it would cause “too big a stir” with the reporters in the room. Trump personally paid for Burger King and McDonald’s to cater an event with the Clemson University football team during the government shutdown.
