Labrador Retriever Named America’s Most Popular Dog Breed for 28th Year in a Row

It’s a very pup-ular breed.

Labrador retrievers were named America’s top dog breed for the 28th year in a row.

The near three-decade run for labs is one that “no other breed has seen in the record books,” American Kennel Club said in a statement announcing the rankings.

German shepherds, golden retrievers, French bulldogs and bulldogs are also among the top five. Beagles, poodles, Rottweilers, German short-haired pointers and Yorkshire terriers rounded out the top 10.
