Churches in North, South Carolina Adapt, Cancel Services in Light of Hurricane Florence

Tony Tilley ate cold oatmeal, a breakfast whipped up without power.

Tillly, pastor at Freedom Baptist Ministries in Anderson, canceled services this morning.

Most, if not all, of his congregation is also out of power as is the church.

A small band of houses, on South Carolina 29, are among the few thousand power outages in Anderson County.

“My brother, two or three miles away, has power,” Tilley said.

His church is one of many that are making decisions about whether to open or not today.
