A senior adviser to the president’s re-election campaign disputed Omarosa Manigault-Newman’s claim on Sunday that she affirmed the president’s alleged use of the ‘n-word’ in a secret recording that the ex-White House aide on a rampage says she’s also heard.
Manigault-Newman claimed Sunday on ‘Meet the Press’ that Katrina Pierson, the national spokeswoman for the president’s 2016 campaign, said on a conference call that Trump definitely used the slur.
Pierson told DailyMail.com on Sunday, however, that ‘Omarosa is being intentionally dishonest in order to sell her new book.’
‘First, I have never heard President Trump ever use the derogatory language that Omarosa claims. Also, I never confirmed the existence of an alleged tape from “The Apprentice” to her as she said today.’
‘That’s a complete fabrication by Omarosa,’ Pierson said. ‘I feel pity for Omarosa as she embarrasses herself by creating salacious lies and distortions just to try to be relevant and enrich herself by selling books at the expense of the truth. “Unhinged,” indeed.’
Manigault-Newman formally launched her book tour this weekend with an appearance on NBC and an interview with NPR in which she shared more salacious details about her time at the White House and her experience working with the president.
The ex-White House aid acknowledged Sunday that she was fired from the White House and did not resign as she claimed in a previous interview.
She shared audio with NBC of the dramatic moment she was let go from her position in the Trump administration by Chief of Staff John Kelly and talked about the infamous ‘n-word’ episode.
Appearing on ‘Meet the Press’ Manigault-Newman said she heard President Trump use the ‘n-word’ in a recording that she tracked down after sending her new book to the publisher.
‘It was confirmed what I feared the most: that Donald Trump is a con and has been masquerading as someone who is actually open to engaging with diverse communities, but when he talks that way, the way he did on his tape, it confirmed that he is truly a racist,’ she said on ‘Meet the Press.’
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Omarosa’s new charges. It had already taken her book on as riddled with falsehoods and lies.
President Trump personally called her a ‘lowlife’ on Saturday in response to a question from a reporter about the expose. ‘Lowlife. She’s a lowlife,’ the president responded.
