TEXT: Numbers 11:31-34

31 And there went forth a wind from the Lord, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, as it were a day’s journey on this side, and as it were a day’s journey on the other side, round about the camp, and as it were two cubits high upon the face of the earth.

32 And the people stood up all that day, and all that night, and all the next day, and they gathered the quails: he that gathered least gathered ten homers: and they spread them all abroad for themselves round about the camp.

33 And while the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the wrath of the Lord was kindled against the people, and the Lord smote the people with a very great plague.

34 And he called the name of that place Kibroth-hattaa-vah: because there they buried the people that lusted.

REGARDING INTERMITTENT FASTING:

James Clear, author of “The Quick Start Guide to Intermittent Fasting,” said, “Surprisingly, since I’ve started intermittent fasting I’ve increased muscle mass (up 10 pounds), decreased body fat (down 3%), increased energy, and decreased the amount of time I’ve spent training (down from 7.5 hours per week to 2.5 hours per week). In other words, I’m stronger, leaner, and more energetic even though I go to the gym less and eat less.”

St. Basil said, “Nothing subdues and controls the body as does the practice of temperance. It is this temperance that serves as a control to passions and desires.”

According to The New England Journal of Medicine, “Cancer affects more than half a million lives per year in the United States alone. Obesity is believed to cause up to 90,000 cancer deaths per year. As body mass index (BMI) increases, so does your risk of cancer and death from cancer. For people with severe obesity, the death rate increases for all types of cancer. The death rate is 52 percent higher for men and 62 percent higher for women.”

This is an uncomfortable subject for many of us, but if you listen and take heed, this particular series can not only change your life spiritually, but it can save your life physically.
