Gospel singer Natalie Grant is out of surgery, which removed two possible cancerous tumors on her thyroids. Her husband, Bernie Herms, provided an update on how it went.
“She is awake and her surgeon said everything went perfectly,” Herms shared on Grant’s Facebook page along with a photo showing an incision on the singer’s neck. “Hallelujah! God is faithful and kind. Thx for your prayers. We are so grateful for your love and support. We will update with news as we receive it.”
Grant announced on Facebook last month that she would have a thyroid operation on Oct. 10. She explained that because of the procedure she’ll be canceling her shows and special appearances from mid-October through the end of November to focus on her recovery.
While heading into surgery on Tuesday morning, the “Clean” singer posted a quick Facebook live video thanking her fans for their prayers. Although admitting she was nervous, Grant maintained that she was not fearful because God “has already made a way.” She also assured everyone that she would keep them posted on how it turns out.
With every moment I get to spend with her @nataliegrant , I am made stronger and better. 18 years ago, We vowed " through sickness and in health". Today I am beside her in pre-op for a few last moments , as she faces thyroid surgery. I'm in awe at the strength of this woman, her faith building mine by the minute. We Believe #godisourhealer
