During Sunday morning service at The Potter’s House Dallas on August 6th, 2017, Bishop T.D. Jakes publicly prayed over his “spiritual son” Chris Hill, kick-starting the restoration process in his life after the former Potter’s House Denver pastor stepped down earlier in the year following news of his extramarital affair with a church employee.
Using 1 John 1:8-10 as scriptural basis, Bishop Jakes posted the following message to social media:
1 John 1:8-10 NIV If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us. Don’t be afraid to come back to Him! Every prodigal son ought to be able to come home! @pastorchrishill
Pastor Hill thanked Bishop Jakes with the following message:
Today I am so grateful to God for my Pastor @bishopjakes – yesterday He was used by God to heal and to begin to restore my brokenness. Deliverance coming from the heart of a true Father in the Faith is indescribable unless you have experienced it. Though I have preached it to millions before, NOW I have lived it for myself. I know how the prodigal son felt when he finally made it home. Imperfect, broken, sorry, but finally home. Thank you @bishopjakes for being a touchable example of the Love of Jesus Christ Thank you for always keeping the light on and the door cracked so that we can ALL come home. #grateful #amazedbygrace #thankfultogod #restoretheroar
