We don’t have to look far to see that many people in the world are dealing with a variety of problems and are in need of solutions. No matter what problem you are facing — whether it is emotional, psychological or spiritual — Jesus Christ holds the solution that you need. As we walk together in this podcast, we will address a number of topics that exist in the world and present solutions from the Bible that will help you heal and live life more abundantly. Our aim in this podcast is: (1) to introduce you to our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, the ultimate source of all healing; (2) to provide you with information that will help you to understand the problem; and (3) to help you by providing solutions to your problems.

Our passage from the Word of God today is Psalm 37:4. It reads, “Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”

Our quote for today is from Mary Fairchild. She said, “If you have arrived at your decision with the sincere intention of pleasing the Heart of God, incorporating biblical principles and wise counsel, you can proceed with confidence knowing that God will work out His purposes through your decision.”

The problem we are discussing today is “Decision Making and the Will of God” (part 3) from the book, “The Guide to Biblical Counseling” by Dr. Tim Clinton and Dr. Ron Hawkins.

Dr. Clinton and Dr. Hawkins continue:

Ask yourself some questions that will help you to understand that God does have a plan and will reveal it. It’s a process that occurs slowly. Often God is fine with any number of possibilities, providing they glorify Him equally. Remember, it’s much easier to see God in the rearview mirror than through the windshield. This means that as we look back on our lives, we can usually see how God was working and how He was actively involved. It’s much harder to look forward and see the good that He is about to do.

Faith and action go hand in hand. It is not necessary to make a final decision hurriedly, yet we must also not become complacent and do nothing. We must engage in activities like searching the Scriptures and prayerfully seeking counsel from mature believers.

When we have God’s peace concerning a previous action, we can receive it as God’s confirmation. This peace is a knowing, a revelation, a confirmation that God is with us and we are walking in His will. If the peace isn’t present, then we had better go back to the Lord and continue to seek His will.
