A huge fallout has engulfed a conference for black journalists after a senior aide to President Trump was added to a panel.
The decision to add Omarosa Manigault to the line-up at the National Association of Black Journalists conference in New Orleans has been branded ‘extremely offensive’.
An insider told Page Six that members and moderators have been dropping out of the event after Manigult was added to a panel discussing police brutality.
The source said: ‘The majority there don’t want her involved. It’s heavy drama — even the moderator is refusing. Everyone sees it as extremely offensive.’
Among the dropouts are New York Times journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones and the New Yorker‘s Kelani Cobb.
Cobb told Page Six that Omarosa’s inclusion wasn’t the sole reason for quitting the panel, branding the event ‘very disorganized’.
Omarosa, 43, is director of communications for the Office of Public Liaison.
Last week it emerged that she has waged war on journalists April Ryan and Roland Martin, as well as renowned Pastor Jamal Bryant calling them ‘enemies of the Trump administration.’
The former Apprentice star told the president that the three high-profile personalities are the ‘biggest threats to sow discord in the African American community against the White House agenda,’ sources told DailyMail.com exclusively.
Omarosa, who now works on Trump’s communication team, was once close pals with Ryan, Martin and Bryant, but is now monitoring them because of their political differences.
The reality star turned-political aide regularly partied with Martin, a former CNN contributor, during the annual Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Conference every September – but reportedly turned on him after he made bold anti-Trump commentaries.
Her friendship with Ryan came to an end after the CNN contributor advised Manigault against taking a job at the White House.
She also cut things off with Bryant after he supported Senator Bernie Sanders for the 2016 presidential election.
‘It’s shocking that three people she once considered her close friends are not just her personal nemeses, but she’s always bashing in meetings with senior White House staff and has her team keeping a dossier on each of them,’ one source revealed.
