Camille Cosby blasted the district attorney and judge in her husband’s sexual assault case after a mistrial was declared Saturday morning.
“How do I describe the district attorney? Heinously and exploitively ambitious,” she said in a written statement. “How do I describe the judge? Overtly arrogant in collaborating with the district attorney.”
Camille continued on to describe Cosby’s accusers as “totally unethical” and the media “as blatantly vicious entities that continually disseminated intentional omissions of truth for the primary purpose of greedily selling sensationalism at the expense of human life.”
After 52 hours of deliberation, jurors told Judge Steven O’Neill they were unable to reach a unanimous verdict on charges that Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted Andrea Constand in his Philadelphia mansion back in 2004.
O’Neill praised the jury for their efforts, assuring them their struggle to reach consensus “is merely the justice system at work.”
Cosby’s wife similarly praised the panel, made up of five women and seven men, for the six days they spent reviewing a series of conflicting accounts and testimonies.
“Historically, people have challenged injustices,” Camille said. “I am grateful to any of the jurors who tenaciously fought to review the evidence; which is the rightful way to make a sound decision… ultimately that is a manifestation of justice, based on facts, not lies.”
