Dak Prescott played college ball at Mississippi State, so he was more than a little interested in his school’s matchup with Connecticut on Friday in the women’s Final Four. As it turned out, the Cowboys quarterback was more than a little excited while in the stands at Dallas’s American Airlines Arena, where he watched his Bulldogs shock the mighty Huskies.

Prescott, of course, was reacting to Morgan William’s buzzer-beating jump shot in overtime that not only gave the Bulldogs a 66-64 win, but ended the Huskies’ 111-game winning streak. That was the longest streak in women’s or men’s Division I basketball history.

Prescott had given William a Twitter shout-out during the Bulldogs’ win Sunday over Baylor to reach the Final Four, in which she scored 41 points. He even found a good omen in Dallas’s stormy weather that day, playing off the school’s catchphrase, “Hail State.”

On Friday, Prescott made sure to see his Bulldogs make history in person, wearing a custom basketball jersey with the number 15 that he wore in college (he wears number 4 with the Cowboys). Before the game, he greeted members of the team and praised William in an interview with ESPN.
