‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Star Chandra Wilson Among Latest Texas Film Hall of Fame Honorees

The Austin Film Society on Monday announced the latest roster of entertainment industry honorees who will be added to the Texas Film Hall of Fame next month.

Among the talent being recognized is Houston native Chandra Wilson, who is known for playing Dr. Miranda Bailey in the ABC television drama Grey’s Anatomy. Wilson is also a noted actor, director and producer who has received five Emmy nominations, as well as numerous Screen Actors Guild, NAACP Image and People’s Choice accolades.

Carol Burnett will be the night’s highlighted award recipient.

Other honorees include co-president and co-founder of Sony Pictures Classics Michael Barker and Dallas-born Jesse Plemons of “Friday Night Lights” TV fame. Plemons will be accepting the Rising Star Award.

This year, the annual event will be held March 10 in Austin (Austin Studios, 1901 E. 51st St.). The ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the Texas Party will begin at 10 p.m. Tickets range from $600 to $25,000 and can be purchased at austinfilm.org.
