We got just this … little … bit … closer to Issa Rae being a reality on our premium cable when we learned that HBO officially ordered a pilot of her new show, Insecure.

Rae, the woman behind the hit YouTube series The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl, co-created Insecure along with The Nightly Show’s Larry Wilmore.

According to Deadline, the new show will tread familiar waters for Rae, chronicling “the awkward experiences and racy tribulations of a modern day African-American woman.”

We’ve been waiting for a minute for Rae’s turn at crafting her HBO pilot—the project was originally set in motion around 2013. (It’s only 2015 now. No big.) Fortunately, she’s kept herself busy, producing more and more shows for YouTube on her channel.
